Working together

Today makes me one step closer to the end result. Paulina, Danielle and I are working in class together to create an overall design for the magazine. Danielle had some problems logging onto the website Joomag which our teacher gave us special access to. She was using the incorrect password but we figured it out. The Joomag website has all the tools needed for creating the ultimate magazine. We played around with the fonts and finally chose one that is simple and not distracting so the main focus will be the cover picture.

I will be changing the color of the font as needed to go along with the background of the cover. As a group we decided to incorporate the issue that we are creating right below the cover name. So my line would be "Fall Special". We also decided to keep the amount of cover lines at a minimum. Our magazine is going to be simple but powerful and really try to lure in readers. For my cover, I have been thinking of putting a picture of a dessert  made with apples and adding a caption of "A healthier option for your Thanksgiving dessert" or having a picture of a an entree or appetizer made of squash with a caption of "An *(entree or appetizers)* recipe that won't totally SQUASH you diet.

For a magazine we also have to include a barcode so we used a free online barcode generator to get one. It was very simple and we are placing it in the bottom left or right hand corner to keep it from obstructing the view of the main picture. Either along the bottom next to the barcode or above the masthead on the top we might place a few cover lines that will attract readers to looking further into the magazine.
